Providing the first initial contact with our clients and providing information and assisting clients to self-help. This includes signposting, providing fact sheets and helping with access to our public information system with clients.
As a CA volunteer administrator you would ensure the smooth running of some business processes including word processing, file management, arranging events, using databases and spread sheets, answering emails and phone calls and updating local information.
The purpose of the role is to explain and assist the clients of Citizens Advice Bedford how to access and search for information using our information site.
The digital assistant will direct our clients towards the appropriate type and level of information resources that they will need to resolve their problem.
Assessing clients during a short interview, either face to face, email or on the telephone enabling clients to self-help by providing information from our public site information system to help with their enquiries, signposting, and/or providing further appointments with Advisers or Caseworkers in the office where necessary.
Interview clients at the office, provide information and advice from our information systems and other sources, give advice explaining the choices and consequences the clients face, give practical help by writing letters, making phone calls, completing forms, doing calculations and formulating financial statements and referring clients to other agencies if they are better placed.
Research and Campaigns
By collecting evidence from clients that visit our office we can help bring about changes in local and national policies and services which can benefit everyone, even those that have never visited Citizens Advice. We have a dedicated research and campaigns team at our office in Bedford.
Other administration roles
We always have the need for help with general office administration - filing, photocopying and general office help.
