When Applying

  • It is very important that you read the entire application form first before attempting to complete it.

  • Have a copy of the person specification and job description when completing the form. Try as hard as possible to match the assessable qualities.

  • Make sure you match the ‘essential’ criteria when completing the form. This is how you will be assessed. If you do not meet all of the essential criteria then you may not get invited to the interview.

  • Make sure you follow ALL instructions on the form. If you miss out a piece of information that is asked for and don't provide an explanation it is likely your application will be rejected.

  • Many forms get rejected through improper spelling and poor grammar. There really is no excuse because we ask you to complete the form electronically which means you have access to a spell checker and thesaurus - a good tip is to ask someone to proof read prior to submitting.

  • When you tell us about your previous/current job responsibilities, we also want to read about your achievements against those responsibilities.

  • One of your nominated referees MUST be your current employed line manager with their work email address. Personal emails are not acceptable - we will not accept relatives, friends or co-workers.

  • We always check with your previous organisation that the person nominated actually works there.

  • We expect the second referee to be from your next previous employment, or in the event of being un/employed for an extended period of time, someone who will provide a character reference.
